Hand-Carved Retaining Walls in Brighton, IL
Structural concrete walls carved by hand to look like boulders, fieldstone or ledge rock.
Twin Rivers Concrete
Walls That Hold the Hill and Look Like Stone
Hand-carved retaining walls are the work Twin Rivers Concrete is known for. Each wall is built in concrete for strength. Then it's carved and colored by hand while the surface is still workable, so it reads as natural rock. Boulders, fieldstone or ledgestone: the yard decides the look, not a catalog.
These walls do real work. They hold back sloped yards, frame pool decks, step down hillsides and create raised beds. Because the face is carved instead of stacked, there are no loose blocks to shift and no pattern repeating every few feet.
Owner Caleb Milford does the carving on site. Most customers pair a wall with a stamped patio, steps or a waterfall, and we can plan the whole space together.

Common Questions
Retaining Walls FAQ
What is a hand-carved concrete wall?
It's a concrete wall with the face carved by hand to look like real stone. You get the strength of concrete with the look of boulders or fieldstone, and every wall is one of a kind.
How does it compare to block or natural stone?
Block walls repeat the same pattern, and natural stone is heavy and costly to set. A carved wall can follow any curve or height, has no loose pieces, and is colored to match your home and landscape.
Can a carved wall go around a pool or patio?
Yes. Many of our walls frame pool decks and patios, and they can include built-in seating, steps, planters or a waterfall.
Do you build retaining walls in my area?
We're based in Brighton, IL and work across the Greater St. Louis area, including Alton, Godfrey, Edwardsville, Wood River, Bethalto, Jerseyville, Collinsville and Granite City. If your town isn't listed, call or text and ask.
